Dog car seat “Travel Deluxe” – flannel graphite

There are dogs who love car rides. And then there are the others: those who pant, tremble, and shrink into themselves because the back seat is slippery and the curves unpredictable. The "Flannel Graphite" is designed for both – but especially for the latter. High, thickly padded walls envelop your dog like a cave: he feels secure on the curves, can see you, smells his own cushion – and eventually, what you've been waiting for happens: he curls up and falls asleep. The fear of the car becomes a favorite spot that just happens to be on the move.

The "Flannel Graphite" is the warmest seat in the family – flannel inside and out, that softly brushed, slightly textured fabric you know from the best winter shirts. In muted graphite, it has a calm and understated look; nothing shines, nothing is flashy; a seat that feels like a favorite sweater and is simply indispensable in the car. The floor cushion is reversible, offering two distinct moods – one side is flannel, the other a cuddly faux rabbit fur for those days when your dog wants to really bury himself. When you arrive at your destination, you carry the seat by its straps into the hotel like a bag – and your dog will find a bed that smells like him. Familiar territory, no matter where you are.

Will your dog fit inside?

A sense of security arises when the den is the right size: snug enough to lean against, wide enough to turn around in. Measure him when he's curled up or lying on his side, from nose to rear end – this is the measurement he needs for his lying area, plus a few centimeters of extra space. If you're between two sizes, choose the larger one: he should be able to turn around and relax, not have to fit inside. And observe how your dog lies: a curled-up dog needs less space than your measuring tape indicates, a stretched-out one needs more – for him, the unfolded side is what counts. Slide-out-Length. And dachshunds are longer than their weight would suggest: For long breeds, it's the lying length that matters, not the scale.

From seat to sofa

Two zippers on the sides, and the front panel folds flat forward: your dog climbs in by himself, and at the destination, the seat transforms into a long sofa on which he can stretch out without leaving his spot. We call it Slide-out – he probably calls it his own.

So he is firmly in the car

A car seat is only stable when it doesn't move. That's why the "Flannel Graphite" seat has three ways to stay firmly in place on the back of the car seat – you only need one, without any tools:

1. With the seatbelt: Large tab at the back – pull the seatbelt through and lock it in place.
2. About the backrest: lower outer rings – stretch the supplied strap over the backrest.
3. About the headrest: 2 fastening rings – hook the strap and guide it over the headrest.

A safety note: If you're using the dog seat in the front passenger seat, deactivate the passenger airbag – a deploying airbag is dangerous for a dog in that seat. This isn't necessary in the back seat.

Completely removable, washable at 30°C

Sand, fur, wet paws – it's all fine. Open the zipper at the bottom, remove the cushion, put the cover in the washing machine: 30°C, in a laundry bag, do not tumble dry. That's all there is to it.
