Guide: How do I find the right bag?

A good dog carrier is more than just "transport": it gives your dog a familiar, clearly defined space – for peace and quiet amidst everyday life. Whether in a restaurant, on the train, on the bus, at events, in the office, or during a client meeting: when your dog has a place to retreat to, "being there" suddenly becomes completely relaxed.

Important note regarding use in the car

For car journeys we recommend basically our car seats They are designed for secure attachment in the vehicle. A dog carrier is primarily a A retreat from everyday life and does not replace a car seat specifically designed for this purpose.

3 steps to the right choice

Step 1: Everyday bag or AIR (suitable for air travel)?

We distinguish between two lines: normal bags (without network) for everyday life – and AIR (Suitable for air travel) for air travel. Important: Even if the sizes have the same name (e.g. L or XL), are AIR bags are narrower, because they are adapted to the requirements of many airlines.

Option A: Regular bags (without mesh) – your retreat for everyday life

For everything that is "life": cafe, restaurant, train, bus, events, office, work, visiting friends – and especially practical when your dog simply needs to lie quietly at the client's office or workplace.

Everyday bag = resting place on the go. Fold down the side panels – and the bag becomes a basket.

Without network – ideal for restaurants, trains, buses, offices & Events.

Option B: AIR (suitable for air travel) – for travel by plane

AIR bags are designed for air travel: narrower cut and with network usable (depending on the model also increased network), so that you can close the bag completely.

AIR models: narrower cut and fully closable with mesh (depending on the variant, also a raised mesh).

Narrow as everyday bags with the same size designation.
With network (optionally raised) fully closable.
Even without a network usable and lockable.

Step 2: What size is right for your dog?

In most cases, you can roughly determine the size by the Weight determine. However, body type and resting position are also crucial for the "perfect fit":

Long legs? (e.g. wind chimes/whippet types)
Long back? (e.g. Dachshund types, Corgis)
Lying position: curled up or stretched out

Tip: If your dog likes to stretch out or has a long back, a longer version often looks much more relaxed. And if you're flying: Please note that the AIR version is the same size. narrower is.

Important: Weight restrictions for air travel (AIR)

Our bags can generally carry more than most airlines allow. However, a rule often applies to air travel. maximum total weight mostly 8 kg - that means: Dog + bag together. The Net weight of the respective bag You can always find it in the Product description.

Step 3: Fine-tuning – what fits into your everyday life?

For restaurants, cafes & Events

Your dog lies peacefully beside you without you having to constantly "manage" him. The bag acts like a small, familiar nest – and with the side panels folded down, it becomes a real basket when you're sitting down.

For train, bus & City

Especially in crowded situations, a clear place to retreat to is helpful: fewer stimuli, less restlessness – and your dog stays close to you without having to "run along" in the throng.

For office, workplace & Customer appointments

A bag can become a "fixed place": your dog knows the layout, can lie down in it and relax – ideal if you need to concentrate on your work or if peace and quiet are important when dealing with a client.

For air travel (AIR)

If you're flying, AIR is the right choice: it has a slimmer cut and can be fully closed with a mesh panel (depending on the model, it may also have a raised mesh panel). Please always check your airline's regulations as well.

Are AIR and regular bags the same size if they are both labeled "XL", for example?

No. AIR bags are narrower, Because they are adapted to airline specifications. Therefore, the perceived space can differ despite the same size designation.
