Winter coat for dogs “Lancaster”
The "Lancaster" is a winter coat for dogs, hand-sewn by us in Hamburg – from materials rarely found in dog coats of this class: a dense, wind- and water-repellent softshell outer layer, a thickly lined olive-colored polar fleece inner layer, and a high collar lined with soft baby corduroy. The cut is designed for a sporty fit, suitable for slim, athletic dogs, not just greyhounds.
Two details make all the difference in winter. The belly flap keeps the chest and belly warm and dry – precisely the areas where most dog coats remain open, allowing cold air and splashes to penetrate. And two optional openings are sewn into the back, through which a harness or leash can be attached; when closed, they remain invisible, and the coat is completely weatherproof.
Fit and size
The coat is designed to accommodate a sweater underneath. Measure your dog's back length from the withers to the base of the tail and compare it to the size chart. If the back length falls exactly between two sizes and your dog wears the coat directly on its fur, choose the smaller size. The rear hem is also adjustable in length.

The back length is your dog's measurement, the chest circumference refers to the garment. For guidance on which size corresponds to which breed:
Size 1–2: Italian Greyhound, Russian Toy, Toy Poodle, Miniature Poodle, Miniature Dachshund, Bichon Frise, Bolognese, Bolonka, Affenpinscher
Sizes 3–5: Whippet, Toy Poodle, Manchester Terrier, Jack Russell, Fox Terrier, Pinscher, Basenji, Blue Lacy, Dachshund, Cocker Spaniel
Size 6–7: Galgo, Weimaraner, Saluki, Podenco, Vizsla
Size 8–10: Borzoi, Azawakh, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Greyhound, Deerhound

Every "Lancaster" coat is hand-sewn by us in Hamburg. The choice of materials and workmanship are designed to ensure the coat lasts for many winters – a piece to keep, not a seasonal item.
Material and care
- Outer fabric: Softshell, 100% polyester
- Inner fabric: Polar fleece, 100% polyester
- Inside collar: 65% polyester, 32% viscose, 3% elastane
- Washable at 30°C on a gentle cycle or by hand.
- Do not use fabric softener.
- Do not dry in direct sunlight, do not iron.

I bought this coat in size 4 for my whippet (12kg). The winter coat is not only beautiful but also very practical. The fleece lining keeps her nice and warm, the collar isn't too tight and still protects her ears. There's even room for a softshell shirt underneath. The quality is, as always, excellent. It arrived quickly and was lovingly packaged.
