Big heat in summer? With the "Ice Camouflage" cooling mat for dogs, a cool spot is always provided
Dogs can suffer just as much as we humans can when it is very hot. When the sun is blazing, almost all dogs look for a cooler place to linger, tiles are particularly suitable for this.
But what should you do if there is no cool ground in sight? - This "Ice Camouflage" cooling mat for dogs works wonders, especially because it is optimal and handy to transport. This mat can be useful, for example, on a wooden floor that is too warm or on a car seat that is too warm, since no refrigerator or similar is needed and it is super easy to clean with a damp cloth.
This cooling mat works very cleverly - the gel in the mat only releases its cooling effect when pressure is applied. That means your four-legged friend must first lie down on the mat so that it can cool the dog extensively - this mat can cool for up to 2 hours at a time.
If your 4-legged friend gets up earlier, the cooling decreases and then the mat begins to regenerate. After about 20 minutes, the cooling mat is fully operational again.

Are cooling mats with gel toxic?
The gel fillings in most cooling mats are harmless, but we recommend using them with caution! The gel is often composed of water and CMC sodium carboxymethylcellulose.Carboxymethylcellulose is a derivative of cellulose, which, to put it simply, is a type of sugar. Carboxymethyl cellulose is approved in the EU as a food additive with the number E 466 and is often used as a coating or thickening agent due to its gel-like consistency. It is often found in confectionery, ice cream, cheese preparations or cake fillings, for example.
In short: You should of course keep an eye on your dog and make sure that he doesn't scratch or destroy the mat in such a way that the gel can leak out.
What to do if my dog eats his cooling mat?
If you have a dog that likes to nibble or destroy things, you shouldn't leave him unattended with a cooling mat. While the gel itself isn't toxic, it's not good for your dog to eat in large quantities, nor is the coating.Offer him cool alternatives to nibble on so he doesn't disassemble his cooling mat.
If it does happen, you should definitely contact your vet! You have to be particularly quick if he has ingested a large amount of gel or is behaving unusually (being very restless, salivating a lot, vomiting, severe diarrhea)! Better safe than sorry!
